Jonathan is Director General for HMRC Strategy and Policy. He leads teams that develop and deliver policy reforms to the UK tax system to support government priorities, underpinned by high-quality customer insight and analysis and working closely with HM Treasury. Earlier in his career, he was the Deputy National Statistician at the ONS, Chief Economist at HMRC, and had a range of tax and spending roles in HM Treasury.
